Get the Tal Shiar Adapted Destroyer in the Lobi Store!
The Lobi Crystal Consortium is pleased to announce their latest featured sale! From Tuesday, June 7th at 9AM PST til Monday, June 13th at 10AM PST, shrewd Captains will be able to choose from their wide selection of wares, just by visiting the in-game Lobi store. All items in the Lobi Store will be 20% off for this entire sale! Now’s the best time to take command of a Kelvin Timeline Intel Dreadnought Cruiser, or get your hands on a Boolean Heavy Assault Cannon, or fly the stars in a Zahl Heavy Cruiser. Enjoy, Captains! But that's not all! During this special event, Captains will be able to purchase the Tal Shiar Adapted Destroyer in the Lobi Store! Find out the details on this ship below: Tal Shiar Adapted Destroyer [T6] – Mandukar Class A fearsome warship, the Tier 6 Mandukar-class destroyer is a potent part of the Tal Shiar fleet. A powerful fusion of Romulan and Borg technology, the vessel is equipped with nanotech fabricators that allow it to deploy deadly Shrapnel Torpedoes in combat. This starship features a Lieutenant Universal/Pilot bridge officer station and a Lieutenant Commander Universal/Intel bridge officer station. Ship Details Faction: All Tier: 6 Availability: Lobi Crystal Consortium Required Rank: Rear Admiral, Sub Admiral I or Brigadier General (Level 40) Hull Strength: 39,000 at level 40, 44,850 at level 50 and 52,000 at level 60 Shield Modifier: 1.1 Fore Weapons: 4 Aft Weapons: 3 Device Slots: 3 Bridge Officer Stations: 1 Ensign Tactical, 1 Commander Tactical, 1 Lieutenant Commander Science, 1 Lieutenant Universal/Pilot, 1 Lieutenant Commander Universal/Intel Console Modifications: 4 Tactical, 3 Engineering, 4 Science Base Turn Rate: 11 degrees per second Impulse Modifier: 0.18 Inertia: 45 +10 to Weapon Power, +5 to Shield Power and +5 to Engine Power Console – Universal – Enhanced Shrapnel Torpedo Launcher Sensor Analysis Cloaking Device Can Load Dual Cannons Starship Ability Package (Destroyer) Precise Weapon Systems (+Accuracy) Enhanced Weapon Banks (+Critical Severity) Devastating Weaponry (+Crit Chance) Enhanced Weapon Systems (+Weapon Damage) Synergistic Tactical Systems (Starship Trait) Console - Universal - Enhanced Shrapnel Torpedo Launcher This console provides your armory with a supply of replicator nanites specifically programmed for the task of fabricating Shrapnel Torpedoes. These deadly warheads are designed to fracture into smaller self-propelled projectiles shortly before reaching their target, providing each individual source of damage additional opportunity to penetrate the enemy's shields. Even though each bit of shrapnel may seem inconsequential alone, the total potential damage inflicted by such a barrage of incoming fire could be gigantic. This weapon appears to have been designed using a combination of Romulan technology, and the re-engineered Borg nanite constructions seen in use at The Vault space station. This console also provides a passive bonus to Critical Hit Chance. This Console Mod can be equipped on any Tal Shiar Adapted starship, in any console slot. You may only equip one of these mods on any single ship. Synergistic Tactical Systems (Starship Trait) After reaching level 5 in Tal'shiar Adapted Destroyer [T6] Starship Mastery, you will unlock the Synergistic Tactical Systems starship trait. While this trait is slotted, activating Cannon: Rapid Fire, Surgical Strikes and Reroute Reserves to Weapons will provide a large boost to Starship Particle Generator skill and Starship Control Expertise for a short time.Quelle: /en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11518743-get-the-tal-shiar-adapted-destroyer-in-the-lobi-store%21

The Sh'hval Temporal Science Spearhead
From June 7th until June 28th on PC, we will be running a promotion that will provide an additional bonus when opening newly-purchased Research and Development Packs, or Duty Officer Packs. ** Promotion dates for Console platforms will be announced at a later date. During this promotion, when you purchase a participating R&D or Duty Officer Pack from the Z-Store and open it, you will receive either 10 Lobi Crystals or a Special Requisition Choice Pack - Tier 6 Promotional Ship Choice Pack in addition to the normal contents of whichever Pack was opened. Additional details about the participating Packs will be included at the end of this announcement. We are excited to announce a brand new addition to the impressive list of Tier 6 Starships that are included in this Promotional Ship Pack: the Sh'hval Temporal Science Spearhead! This is the dreadnought-sized support vessel seen coming to the rescue of the U.S.S. Cerritos in the Season 2 finale episode of Star Trek: Lower Decks. Thanks to the ingenuity of one of its own “lower decks” personnel, this Vulcan vessel has cemented its place as a valuable ally, and a fan favorite among many viewers. Continue reading further on for the full details on this new starship offering! Sh’vhal Temporal Science Spearhead [T6] Although the Vulcan people are not in the practice of building starships for the purpose of waging war, it cannot be denied the efficiency with which even their most science-focused vessels can fill such a role when the situation calls for it. The Sh'vhal-class supplements its impressive scientific surveying and scanning capabilities with redundant cross-linked systems that can quickly reroute power and priorities to defensive countermeasures when necessary, including famously resilient and regenerative shield arrays. This ship features a Commander Science / Temporal Operative Bridge Officer specialist seat, and a Lt. Commander Universal / Command Bridge Officer specialist seat. Ship Details: Tier: 6 Faction: Any Required Rank: Must Complete the Tutorial Hull Modifier: 1.25 Shield Modifier: 1.5 Fore Weapons: 4 Aft Weapons: 3 Device Slots: 3 Bridge Officer Stations: 1x Lt Commander Tactical, 1x Ensign Engineering, 1x Lieutenant Science, 1x Commander Science / Temporal Operative, 1x Lt Commander Universal / Command Consoles: 4 Tactical, 3 Engineering, 4 Science (scales with level) Base Turn Rate: 7.5 Impulse Modifier: 0.17 Inertia: 40 +10 Shield Power, +10 Auxiliary Power Console - Universal – Regenerative Shield Amplifier Can Equip Dual Cannons “Molecular Reconstruction” Abilities Subsystem Targeting Sensor Analysis Secondary Deflector Slot Starship Ability Package (Science Vessel) Enhanced Particle Generators (+Exotic Damage) Advanced Shield Systems (+Shield HP) Enhanced Restorative Circuitry (+Healing) Reactive Shield Technology (+Shield Regen/Hardness Totally Lost All Control (Starship Trait) Admiralty Ship Stats: Eng: 24 Sci: 67 Tac: 35 Special: +10 TAC per EngShip Console – Universal – Regenerative Shield Amplifier Vulcan ships are known to uncharacteristically jump headlong into conflict quite willingly. Perhaps fear of their ship's destruction would be too emotional, or illogical. Perhaps it is simply a matter of the needs of the many outweighing their own. Regardless of their motivation, the Vulcan Science Directorate has authorized distribution of technology built to wrest control of a dangerous situation, redirecting enemy fire toward one's own vessel in an effort to lessen the burden and risk on other allied vessels. While active, the shields of the ship will rapidly regenerate and automatically redistribute, while additional subsystem power is directed to the shields to render additional benefits. This console additionally provides a passive bonus to Shield Subsystem Power, Starship Shield Restoration and Starship Shield Regeneration. This console may be equipped on any ship in any console slot. This console mod may be used on any starship, in any console slot. Only one of these consoles may be equipped on a ship at a time. Our Next Update: Stormfall!
You've stepped through the Mirror and back, Captains, just barely escaping with your lives. If you venture in again, will it be for the last time? Join one of our most star studded casts in Stormfall, the latest Star Trek Online story update. Kate Mulgrew returns as both Admiral Janeway from the Prime Star Trek Universe, and her dastardly, Borg afflicted Mirror Counterpart. Joining her are Mary Wiseman as Sylvia "Killy" Tilly, the unhinged, murderous version of Tilly from Star Trek Discovery. Chase Masterson joins us to reprise the role she created just for Star Trek Online, Admiral Leeta, the true antithesis of everything her character stood for in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Kipleigh Brown brings us a version of Kuumaarke like we've never seen before. And finally, for the first time, Noah Averbach-Katz (Ryn, from Star Trek: Discovery) will step out from behind the streaming desk and step into the game, playing Rae-yeet, a Mirror Universe inhabitant who rebels against the evil Terran Empire. You'll stand alongside and against all of these forces, including your own dark reflection. This story plays out in two brand new episodes, "Blue Shift," and "The Calling." In addition, you'll find we've reworked the Task Force Operation "Assault on Terek Nor" into the completely redone "Forged in Fire." Finally, you can oppose the Terran Empire in the updated, screen accurate map of Deep Space Nine, with brand new cutscenes, enemies, and boss mechanics. You can play all of that, and more, in the Heart of the Storm event, to unlock a powerful new ground set based around Mirror Kuumaarke. And if you're brand new or just want to see it all again, the 2409-era Federation Tutorial has received a long needed update, adding more depth, better environments and cutscenes, more streamlined content and interactions with Admiral Janeway herself, as well as Aron Eisenberg as Captain Nog. Lower Decks has been one of our favorite new additions to the Star Trek canon, and we're adding the California Class, the flagship of that show, into the Infinity Lock Box starting today. In addition, several awesome items from the show like the Mandatory Medical Treatment rifle and the Scorpion Cube have been added to the Lobi store. It's an exciting time to be a Star Trek Online fan, and we're so pleased to have you with us, Captains. Stormfall will be live after maintenance today. We'll see you in the Final Frontier.Quelle: /en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11516383-our-next-update%3A-stormfall%21

All items obtained in Lvl 65 Captain Boost packs can now be recycled in the replicator. The wingtip canons of the Kor Bird of Prey will now be appropriately symmetrical if you swap to them in the advanced ship customization UI.Quelle: /en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11516553-patch-notes-for-5%2F10%2F22

The Delta Quadrant Needs You!
Delta Recruitment Returns! The special Delta Recruitment event is coming back! From May 10th at 8am PT to June 9th at 10am PT, on PC, you can create a new Delta Recruit character. Any newly-made 2409 Starfleet character, Klingon Defense Force character, or Romulan Republic character is eligible to become a recruit for the 28 days that this event runs! Delta Recruits gain a set of special goals in order to prepare for the Iconian War. Using a tesseract transceiver from the future, you’ll chase down information about the Iconians and complete other tasks to make sure your faction’s ready to handle the Iconians. Along the way you’ll earn great rewards, and gain special account unlocks so that your other characters are rewarded, too! In addition, we’ve updated the Delta Recruit tasks to remove out-of-date missions and introduce new goals with new rewards. Missions that are no longer in the episode journal will no longer have Delta Recruit tasks in them, but we’ve added new tasks to the New Romulus, Dyson Sphere, and Delta Quadrant story arcs. You’ll also gain rewards from completing those mission groups. Tasks that previously gave you marks have been updated so that you can claim all of the new kinds of Reputation marks that’ve been added since the first launch of Delta Recruitment. There’s now a reward for reaching level 60, which gives you even more marks and Reputation dilithium, as well as salvage, so that you can earn more Reputation gear and re-engineer your equipment for the endgame. We’ve added new rewards for completing your faction’s Admiralty campaign, including a very special Admiralty card: The U.S.S. Voyager! Existing Delta Recruits will be able to complete these new goals as well, and if you’ve already finished them, you can claim the rewards immediately. Remember, to become a Delta Recruit and gain access to the rewards, you must make a new 2409 Starfleet character, a Klingon Defense Force character, or a Romulan Republic character during the event, then you must play the tutorial until you receive your special Delta Recruit tesseract transceiver device. Once you receive the device, your character is a Delta Recruit and you can complete the goals any time and claim the rewards, even after the event ends. .share-footer a { margin: 20px 10px 10px 0; background: url(https://pwimages-a.akamaihd.net/arc/d7/af/d7afaaa14e96d0d973f76157ae31ec5b1466398539.png) no-repeat 0 0; opacity: .5; display: inline-block; height: 60px; width: 60px; padding: 0; border: 1px solid transparent; -webkit-transition: opacity .3s; transition: opacity .3s; } .share-footer .TI { background-position: 0 20%; } .share-footer .YT { background-position: 0 40%; } .share-footer .YT { background-position: 0 40%; } .share-footer .TW { background-position: 0 60%; } .share-footer .FO { background-position: 0 80%; } .FB:hover { background-position: 100% 0%; } .TI:hover { background-position: 100% 20%; } .YT:hover { background-position: 100% 40%; } .TW:hover { background-position: 100% 60%; } .FO:hover { background-position: 100% 80%; } .share-footer a:hover { opacity: 1; -webkit-transition: opacity .3s; transition: opacity .3s; } $(document).ready( function() { $('.show-lightbox').click(function() { var $el = $(this); var link = $el.data().lightbox; $.colorbox({href: link, maxWidth: '90%', maxHeight: '90%', scalePhotos: true}); }); }); .headerimage { border: 2px inset rgba(255, 255, 255, .05); border-radius: 2em; box-shadow: 5px 5px 2px rgba(0, 0, 0, .3); -webkit-transition: all 500ms ease; -moz-transition: all 500ms ease; -ms-transition: all 500ms ease; -o-transition: all 500ms ease; transition: all 500ms ease; }Quelle: /en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11515963-the-delta-quadrant-needs-you%21

Class of 2409, Report for Duty!
We’ve undertaken a rework of the Starfleet tutorial experience for cadets undertaking their first cruise. Newly-created 2409 Starfleet officers will experience polished and updated training exercises. In our updated tutorial, your captains-to-be still start on graduation day at Starfleet Academy, but we’ve updated the map to improve its visual fidelity and provide a more beautiful landscape. Your companion, Elisa Flores, leads you through the Academy steps, so that you always know where to go next. Updated UI elements now indicate people to talk to, places to go, and objects to interact with. Several characters have also received a visual polish update, so you’ll notice that some of your mentors and peers have an improved look. In addition, we’ve tweaked the story of the tutorial to focus on one overriding threat: the Borg. Your humble ship survives a Borg strike and becomes embroiled in the awakening sleeper cell of Borg on a nearby Federation colony, and when your captain is abducted and assimilated, it’s up to you to take the center seat and save the day! Of course, Starfleet is a family, and you’ll have a little help—both from Captain Nog and the famous Admiral Janeway, who has plenty of experience in fighting the Borg. All of the cutscenes in the tutorial have been redone to provide a much smoother and more dramatic experience, and we’ve taken a crack at improving the tutorial’s behind-the-scenes logic as well to catch odd edge cases and make sure that you won’t get stuck and you should always know where to go next. Once you’ve made it through, you’ll consult with Admiral Janeway once more on Earth Spacedock, before receiving your next assignment from Fleet Admiral Quinn. Of course, Delta Recruits still have their special experience too, but they still have to make it past the Borg threat before they can save the future! We’ll see you once you’ve completed your training cruise, cadet! The California and More From Lower Decks!
Coming with the release of our next Story Content release, the Infinity Lock Box will run as our featured Lock Box for a full-length run. This extended run will also include a number of exciting additions in the form of the following: Additions of items previously seen in the Picard Zhat Vash Lock Box! A brand-new (and highly anticipated) Tier-6 Starship! New Lower Decks themed additions to the Lobi Store! Starting on May 10th, 2022, players on PC will have the opportunity to join the crew of the Lower Decks (in spirit, anyway) as captain of a California Miracle Worker Utility Cruiser [T6], when they win it from the Infinity Lock Box! Complete ship details can be found further below in this dev blog! New Items in the Lobi Store! Console - Universal - Unstable Planetoid Detonation This Console's active ability seeds a nearby chunk of rock with unstable elements and detonates it with a mock solar discharge, producing a devastating wave of disruptive energy. The effect was first observed with a full-size planetoid and a real solar discharge by the U.S.S. Cerritos, and is recreated at a smaller scale here; while incapable of devastating a solar system, it can devastate a group of enemy vessels. It deals Kinetic damage and disables enemy subsystems over a wide area. The equipment required to recreate the effect by nature improves the Kinetic Damage, Maximum Hull, and Control Expertise of the starship. Ground “Weapon” - Mandatory Medical Treatment Rifle Medical personnel in Starfleet, particularly doctors, enjoy tremendous liberties concerning their duties. They are able to countermand orders, detain crew, declare them unfit for duty and, in extreme cases, deploy physical force in the name of medicine. Typically this involves restraining fields, but sometimes more creative applications are necessary. Thus began the Mandatory Medical Treatment Rifle, a novel means of delivering hypos at range and at speed. This rifle heals those it targets, and its secondary fire deploys a significant area heal. Lastly, this rifle repurposes target optimization gear, allowing global Critical Chance and global Critical Severity to apply to the Healing it does. Universal Kit Module - Scorpion Cube This Kit Module makes use of a strange artifact that temporarily transforms the user into a brutal scorpion. For a moderate duration, all abilities are replaced with devastating melee and ranged biological attacks. Passive abilities are retained during the transformation. The effects appear to have no lasting consequences, though this has not been studied at length. Universal Kit Module - Strange Energies Infusion Channels mysterious alien power for a brief length of time. Lifts Foes nearby and slams them into the ground, controlling them briefly and damaging them. Foe biological ensigns are transformed instead and for a longer duration, changed into friends that are visually similar to the user for a period of time. Lower Decks Personal Traits Space Trait - Make it Go By using... methodology... derived from Pakled clumpships, the Captain's starship is modified in many unorthodox ways, resulting in unpredictable beneficial effects. The wisdom of such strategies is left to the individual Captain to evaluate. Pakled clumpships are often underestimated, which led to an effort to identify the sources of their stubborn strength. Space Trait - Vitruvian Explosives Dealing weapon-based Kinetic damage has a percent chance to deal additional Radiation Damage. This extra damage is not improved by sources of increased or bonus damage a second time, except by increases or bonuses specific to Radiation Damage. While restricted and highly radioactive, Vitruvian Explosives are as effective as ancient Vitruvius himself. Ground Trait - Consulting the Team When the Captain's Health becomes low, recover half the recharge time of all Team Kit Modules and Bridge Officer Abilities. 120 second recharge. When the Away Team's leaders face a crisis, often the best thing they can do is trust the advice of those closest to them. Ground Trait - Shadow of the Black Mountain Upon entering a Ground Map, grants a bonus to Kit Performance to members of your away team which lasts indefinitely, but is lost one an officer if they are knocked unconscious. If you yourself are knocked unconscious, the bonus is removed from them all. California Miracle Worker Utility Cruiser [T6] They aren't the fastest in the fleet, nor the toughest, nor even the prettiest by the opinion of most, but the California-class still has it where it counts... what exactly "it" is can be difficult to define. Or locate. The class has always taken a second-string position to the flashier designs of the Federation's fleets, yet none can deny that these versatile vessels are still capable. The extensive customization available within this class's internal systems allows it to serve a "jack-of-all-trades" role, and ends up meaning that success of their missions often hinges on the specialized crews that have come to know and appreciate the quirks and "personality" of the vessel on which they labor. This starship features a Commander Engineering/Miracle Worker specialist seat and a Lt Commander Universal/Miracle Worker specialist seat. The strange goo is capable of converting inorganic matter into both organic compounds and natural elements belonging to what is presumed to be the natural habitat of the species of its creator. This process will rend apart the hull and engines of enemy vessels it meets. This console will eject several blobs of volatile terraforming emulsion into space, which will seek out and attach themselves to nearby enemy starships, quickly and violently converting portions of their hull into organic material. This process deals Physical Damage based on the clouds' proximity to their chosen prey, and any enemies unfortunate enough to bungle into them. The compound reacts in such a way that multiple clouds of the goop cannot devour a starship simultaneously - there is simply not enough surface area or material. As such, the effects of a single cloud will not stack with others. Starship shields are also quite effective at slowing down the deleterious conversion process, buy limiting the hull's exposure to the substance. Each cloud of emulsion will seek out a different target when created. If no un-leashed targets are within 5km, they will wander around the space until a target presents itself. This console ability may only be activated during combat, and not while cloaked. This console also provides a passive boost to Power Transfer Rate and Shield Regeneration skill, as well as a boost to Flight Speed while Out of Combat. This console may be equipped on any ship in any console slot. This console mod may be equipped on any ship, in any console slot. Only one of these consoles may be equipped on a ship at a time. Tooltip Description: Creates a series of clouds at your location (total of 8) which last for 30 sec each Clouds affect all Foes within 1km, and one Foe within 5km which it will chase Clouds reduce Flight Speed and Turn Rate Clouds deal Physical Damage each sec (Damage Increases with Proximity) If a Foe is defeated while affected by a Cloud, they will create a new Cloud which lasts for 30 sec and seeks out another Foe within 5km Starship Trait – Lower Decks Initiative While this trait is slotted, activating any Ensign-rank Bridge Officer ability grants you a Recharge Speed reduction for Commander-Rank Bridge Officer Abilities and Captain Abilities, which lasts for an extended duration and stacks several times. Every effective Bridge Crew depends on the ingenuity of their Lower Decks, whether they know it or not. PC Patch Notes for 4/5/22
Vanity Shields Promotion: From 05/05 to 05/12, Captains may purchase Vanity Shield items previously only available in Lock Boxes. To access them, open the Dilithium Store and navigate to the "Vanity Shields" tab. The versions purchased from the Dilithium Store will be "Bound to Account on Pickup" and thus cannot be sold on the Exchange. For more information, please visit the “Vanity Shields for Dilithium!” blog, tomorrow at 7am. General: Resolved an issue that was causing Reputation tiers to revert to the previous tier once a Tier 5 Reputation Buyout token was applied. Phoenix Prize Pack Updates: New prizes have been added at all prize tier categories, including the Vulcan T'Pau Scout Ship [T6]! Tier-5 Starships previously available at Ultra-Rare have all been retired. All prizes previously found at Very Rare, Rare, and Uncommon Prize Tiers have been promoted by one Tier, and existing Prize Tokens in player inventories have been promoted accordingly. Uncommon Prize Category no longer exists. Odds for receiving Prize Tokens higher than the lowest-Tier have increased across the whole Prize Pack! All future versions of the Phoenix Universal Tech Upgrade will contribute fewer Tech Points than previous versions. Existing versions of this item that players already own will have their name changed to include "Classic" and upgraded to Epic/Gold, but otherwise unchanged. For more information, please visit the “Better Odds and More Prizes in the Phoenix Prize Pack!” blog at: https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11515903-better-odds-and-more-prizes-in-the-phoenix-prize-pack%21 All weapons obtained in Legendary Dominion Captain Bundle may now be recycled using the Replicator.Quelle: /en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11516293-pc-patch-notes-for-4%2F5%2F22

Better Odds and More Prizes in the Phoenix Prize Pack!
With the upcoming return of the Phoenix Prize Pack Event, we are excited to unveil a number of changes and updates to both the prizes it will allow players to obtain, and the overall structure of the pack. Firstly, new prizes are coming at every single prize tier! In addition to the first new Tier-6 Starship to grace this feature in quite some time, we’re excited to announce that the type of rewards being added here are no longer exclusive to those formerly seen as Event Rewards, but now also encompass former-Microtransactions, limited-time Giveaways, and more! By expanding into these reward categories, we are opening the door to more exciting additions in future updates! As for the structural changes to the pack, we are making these with a keen eye fixed on our Dilithium Economy, and the Dilithium-Zen-Exchange by extension. The Phoenix Prize Pack’s position as one of our most effective long-term economic sinks is something we are striving to maintain and improve upon, and we hope players will be as welcoming to these changes, as they are bound to be about the new prize additions. Without further ado, let us get into the details of what players can expect to see when this goes live on PC starting on May 5th, 2022! IN WITH THE NEW Here are the new additions we will be making to the Phoenix Prize Pack Redemption Stores! The tier of many items in the boxes are changing, so please read on for more details on why these items are placed where they are. Epic: Vulcan T’Pau Scout Ship [T6] Ship Details can be found here: https://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/11073613-command-the-t%27pau-scout-ship%21 Ultra Rare: Holographic Leeta Tactical Officer (choice of DS9-era Dabo Outfit, or modern Mirror Admiral appearance) Holographic Geordi La Forge Engineering Officer (FED only) Very Rare: Costume Unlock: Kelvin Admiral Uniform (FED only) Costume Unlock: Racing Uniforms (FED only) 23rd Century Advanced Environmental Suit (FED only) Rare: Seleya Ceremonial Lirpa (now upgradeable with this update!) Kri’stak Blade (now upgradeable with this update!) “NX-“ Ship Registry Prefix Unlock (Note: As with other existing Phoenix prizes, all of the above are character-only, not account-wide.) INCREASED ODDS Alongside these new additions to the box, as well as additional evaluations we have made regarding the Phoenix Prize Pack’s economic impact and intended valuations, we will be increasing the odds of receiving all prize tiers above the lowest available. Thus, the act of opening a Phoenix Prize Pack should feel more rewarding and exciting. PRIZE TIER CONSOLIDATION We have decided to retire all of the Tier-5 Starships currently available at the Ultra-Rare Prize Tier. With only one exception, these starships all have already received updated variants at Tier-6 that are available in various places throughout the game, and should therefore have been retired some time ago. Their inclusion at such a high prize tier was also misleading toward less-established players, regarding their relative value to the modern era of starships. We are interested in the possibility of making these ships available by other means at some point in time. We can’t promise anything right now, but never say never. The removal of all prizes from this Tier leaves a gap. We will be addressing this gap by shifting all prize tiers below Ultra-Rare up by one category. Very Rare (Purple) becomes Ultra-Rare (UV) Rare (Blue) becomes Very Rare (Purple) Uncommon (Green) becomes Rare (Blue) Uncommon will no longer exist We will be automatically replacing any existing Prize Tokens that players already possess with one from the next higher tier, with the exception of Ultra-Rare Tokens of which we will instead double your count. Thus, if you previously owned one or more Token at each Tier you will automatically now own a different assortment when you log in on or after maintenance completes on this feature’s release date, as shown in this conversion chart: WAS… … BECOMES 1x Epic Prize Token (no change) 1x Ultra Rare Prize Token 2x Ultra Rare Prize Token 1x Very Rare Prize Token 1x Ultra Rare Prize Token 1x Rare Prize Token 1x Very Rare Prize Token 1x Uncommon Prize Token 1x Rare Prize Token OUT WITH THE OLD We have removed the ability to re-purchase a Phoenix Prize Pack using the lowest-tier Tokens. The mere presence of this option skews the calculations regarding relative value enough to cause some wrinkled brows when crunching the numbers. In addition, making this change provides a further dilithium sink, now that Phoenix Prize Packs can only be purchased with Dilithium, except during events. We hope this will help improve the standing of the Dilithium Exchange. Speaking of Phoenix Prize Pack events, there's one starting tomorrow on PC with these changes! Get a free pack every day to hunt through the new tiers! This event will last until May 12th at 10am PT. A PARADIGM CHANGE Phoenix Tech Upgrades purchased from this date forward will experience a reduction in their effectiveness. A close look at their usage stats, as well as a game-wide examination of their economic impact, has led us to conclude that such an adjustment is not only needed, but also long overdue. Existing versions of these Tech Upgrades that players have already purchased will not be altered, other than having their names changed to include the term “Classic” and their quality upgraded to Epic (Gold). Future purchases will yield a Phoenix Universal Tech Upgrade with the following change: Tech Points contribution 38,400 (down from 51,200) Research Points ratio unchanged (still “Standard”) Still no Dilithium Cost to apply Still usable on any/all Equipment types Why? The original effectiveness of Phoenix Upgrades stemmed from a calculation that assumed a price point of 4,500 Dilithium per application – the “Base” price of a Phoenix Prize Pack. However, with the odds of receiving higher-tier Prize Tokens which could be downgraded into multiple lower-tier Tokens, as well as the option to purchase another Phoenix Prize Pack using low-tier tokens, the actual price per application works out to be significantly lower than 3,000. With this calculating out as a difference of more than 33%, it rendered these Tech Upgrades the most efficient Tech Upgrade in the game by a margin that was much larger than intended. The upcoming change will narrow this gap, but should not de-throne the Phoenix Tech Upgrade from its position as the best Tech Upgrade in the game. We want to maintain players’ motivation to engage with this Prize, while still lessening its influence as an economic powerhouse. (Upgrade Weekend Events will continue to enhance the efficiency that a player experiences when using them.) SAME FACES, NEW PLACES A few of the prizes currently available within the Phoenix Prize Pack Redemption Stores have shifted around, in order to increase parity within a few prize types. Crystalline Shard (Vanity Pet) has moved down from Very-Rare to Rare Young Nanov (Vanity Pet) has moved down from Ultra-Rare to Rare Risa Mini-Powerboard - Elite (Future Flyer) has moved down from Ultra-Rare to Very-Rare Red Matter Capacitor (Device) has moved down from Ultra-Rare to Very-Rare Faction-Appropriate EMH Mk I Science Officer (Bridge Officer) has moved up from Very-Rare to Ultra-Rare The option to purchase Experimental Ship Upgrade Tokens during the Phoenix Event will remain, but their availability and pricing structures have changed in order to account for the shifting of prize tiers, and the modifications made to prize odds. Players will now have the option of purchasing a single Experimental Ship Upgrade Token at the following price points: 5x Ultra-Rare Prize Tokens 20x Very-Rare Prize Tokens 100x Rare Prize Tokens Reminder that you may purchase as many of these as you like while the Phoenix Event is active, but they will only be available for a Limited Time! These changes are all for the health of the game, and we hope will lead to a more balanced economy as a whole. There will be a Ten Forward Weekly stream tonight at 4:30 PT where we discuss these changes, so please tune in if you have questions.
