And that’s why we’re taking the Final Frontier into the format it was always meant for, a 2D fighting game. Using the most popular characters (and the assets we don’t have to pay for) from Star Trek Online, Star Trek Unleashed will allow players to fight out the dream matches they’ve always wanted to see. And, we put Madran in, so you can beat him up as much as you want. Now, these screen shots are from a very early build, and don’t represent the final product of Star Trek Unleashed, but we wanted you to get a taste as we move into the future. First, take a look at the character select screen – we’re revealing the full launch roster today! In this screenshot, Madran has attempted to use his “Run Away!” super move, but Kuumaarke was just too fast. Gotta learn those frame perfect counters! Starting March 14th, a brand new ship will be available in the Infinity Lock Box on PC. Though many know the Orion throughout history by their stereotype as bloodthirsty pirates, the truth is that no species in the galaxy should be defined by shallow generalities. The Orions of the 23rd Century had interests in science as well as plunder, and they had a ship that was well suited for both. The D’Var class famously nearly took down the original Enterprise, peppering it with attacks at a speed too fast to return fire. But a D’Var class ship also is on record as making an important scientific discovery, being the first to locate the mysterious portal on Krulmuth-B. Now, you can take the helm of this ship. Orion D'Var Temporal Science Vessel The D'Var is an Orion workhorse field research vessel, equipped and optimized for the unusual environments they tend to find themselves in. It specializes in rapid collection and embarkation, and for good reason -- science takes time, and it's a great deal easier to steal someone else's discovery than make a new one. When the worst happens and a priceless alien artifact is indeed stolen, the Temporal Operations specialization proves crucial: simply tagging the fleeing ship with Temporal Anchor is enough to bring them right back to the scene of the steal, allowing the artifact to be repatriated more conveniently. The D'Var is an unusual vessel by most standards, but it's an unusual galaxy by any standard and the results speak for themselves. This ship comes with a Commander Science/Temporal Ops and a Lt. Commander Engineering/Intel seat. After a delay, the Foes return to their position at the exact moment of activation and take the Radiation damage again. Initially developed as means of protecting scientific discoveries from theft by ensuring enemies could not escape, the Temporal Anchor proved useful in other contexts as well. Its primary advantage is in enabling the combination of gravity wells and disruptive technologies, allowing foes to be gathered together, sent flying off into the distance, then returned, allowing the best of both worlds. This console additionally provides a passive bonus to Flight Speed and Control Expertise.   Starship Trait - Temporal Artifact Scan While this trait is slotted, your ship's sensors will scan the area for chroniton radiation coming from a Temporal Artifact housed aboard an enemy starship. Once the Artifact is located, defeating that ship will drop it into space as a pickup. Collecting an Artifact provides a significant bonus to Critical Severity until leaving the map. This effect has a long cooldown, but eventually another Artifact will be located.

While major powers struggle for stability in the midst of the latest crisis, the Tholian web extends unseen above their prey. They make no distinctions between the Romulan Republic and the Tal Shiar. They are advanced, enigmatic, and patient… and they have chosen this moment of galactic distraction to strike. Beginning on March 13th on PC, the Tholians imprison a significant portion of the Romulan Flotilla in the Azure Nebula while they attempt to ensnare and abscond with the formidable Vault. How many ships can the Alliance spare to deal with this machination? Will it be enough? For three weeks, we’ll be running a special event in Star Trek Online called Tholian Trouble. This Event will include multiple TFOs previously featured individually in a combined Featured Event that will allow players to choose their preferred trial each day, while earning Daily Progress toward a new grand prize reward. Play Azure Nebula Rescue to pluck captured Romulan ships out of Tholian webs in a murky nebula, or select Vault: Ensnared to prevent them from stealing away a massive fortress full of priceless research.  We've made several updates to polish these two TFOs, to make your experience even better. Participating in this Event will give all players the opportunity to win the Universal Console – Tholian Web Array for their entire account! Keep reading for details on this item, how you can participate in the Event, and what additional prizes may be earned. Azure Nebula Rescue and Vault: Ensnared Updates   Azure Nebula Rescue As you're rescuing Romulan ships from the Tholian web-bases, you'll now be assisted by the I.R.W. Leahval—the flagship of the Romulan Republic. But be careful, because during the fighting, more Tholian reinforcements will show up to hunt you down! In addition, we've streamlined the optional objectives so that they should be approachable, and instead of rescuing a small number of ships over two small periods of time, you now gain bonuses for rescuing some ships early through the event, and for reaching a higher total overall during the event. We've also added map markers so that when you use your overhead map, you can see exactly what Romulan ships are being held and where, along with their values for the TFO. Plus, our environment team has revisited the Azure Nebula itself to update its beautiful coloration and gaseous shapes!   Vault: Ensnared When you arrive to assist the Vault, you'll now find that the various Reman ships defending it are ensnared in webs. Fight off the Tholians, destroy the webs, free the Reman ships and you'll earn bonuses. Plus, if you free all of the ships quickly, you'll automatically advance to the next stage of the TFO—no more waiting! Once the Tholian vault weavers arrive to ensnare the Vault, they'll take a tighter formation, and they travel in groups. This means you'll spend less time flying from one side of the Vault to the other, and more hunting down Tholian ships! You'll need to be quick about it, because if you don't manage to stop the Vault from being ensnared, Obisek will trigger a thalaron cascade that will destroy the webs but will also do serious damage to your ships. Finally, when you enter the micronebula to fight the Tholian flagship, you'll see UI elements on the map to show you where to go, and your mission tracker will show the name of the additional dreadnought. Defeat the flagship and the additional dreadnought quickly for bonus rewards, or focus on just destroying the flagship and its escorts to finish the mission. You'll have to fight them in the micronebula, though, so remember what you learned from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan—tactical view will be inoperative, and shields will be useless! To go along with these changes, we've also increased the number of marks rewarded by both TFOs. Universal Kit Module - Tholian Technology Suite This compact Tholian technology suite combines both active and passive offensive capabilities. Passively, this Kit Module automatically replicates a Tholian Assault Drone upon entering any combat scenario. This combat assistant uses Tetryon beams and Tetryon cone blasts to assault your nearby enemies. It will expire when Combat is over. If destroyed during combat there is a brief lockout period before another drone will be automatically called to your side to continue the fight. Also included is an adaptation of one of the devastating Radiation Blasts seen used by Tholians in their specialized EV Suit technology. This powerful bit of weaponry takes a few seconds to charge up, but offer massive Energy and Environmental damage resistance during this period. Once fully charged, the blast is capable of decimating armies of foes while blasting them backwards. Event Campaign This Featured Event will be the second of a series of upcoming Events that will participate in the latest installment of our multi-event system known as an Event Campaign. For 2024, we're changing things up a bit. You'll need to participate in six events in total in order to earn the Grand Prize. However, the Grand Prize is changing, as well. Instead of having to choose between a Tier 6 Infinity Promotional Ship of your choice, two Free T6 Zen Store Coupons, or 1500 Lobi, you will receive all three. No more difficult choices, just get all of the rewards at once! Players may earn 50 Event Campaign Progress for each day they participate in an eligible event. Buying out an eligible event will include up to 700 Event Campaign Progress. Each event’s buyout only grants as much Event Campaign Progress as is relative to the amount paid, after pro-rated discounts are applied. This means that paying half price, (because you participated in 7 out of 14 of the required days so far) will grant you 350 Event Campaign Progress. Essentially, you get what you pay for. Resolved an issue that was causing the Fleet Power Network console ability to reduce all cooldowns, rather than only providing Weapon Firing Cycle Haste. This is a visual issue only, “Resonance Charge” does still actually target 3 nearby enemies. Using a Command, Hull Heal or Shield Heal Bridge Officer on an Ally or Allies resets the cooldown of all non-Specialization firing modes for Beams, Cannons and Torpedoes.  It also provides that target a temporary increase to their Weapon Firing Cycle.  This effect has a moderate internal cooldown.
