General:   Addressed an issue that could cause excessive crowding of cadets on Starfleet Academy.  Addressed an issue with KDF Gorn Bridge Officers so that going forward, new Very Rare-quality BOFFs will retain that quality when commissioned.  Added a summary of the quality of pending Duty Officers to donate to the donation UI and the confirmation dialog to help prevent Captains from accidently donating Duty Officers they did not intend to.  Console - Universal - Covert Warhead Module Updates:  Resolved an issue where the Cloak wasn't working properly.  Resolved an issue where dying enemies triggered an instant explosion with improper stats.  Resolved an issue with the Console - Universal - Harmonic Yield Distribution via Radial Aperture and the Console - Universal - Swarmer Matrix that prevented the speed boost from properly applying to targetable torpedoes.  Resolved an issue that was preventing the detonations from being slightly delayed from each other in an aesthetically pleasing manner with the Console - Universal - Covert Warhead Module.  The design of the Hestia Advanced Escort has been slightly adjusted to add more explicit visual elements to represent torpedo launchers.  The material on the Ross Exploration Cruiser Right nacelle decals has been corrected.   Go to the ship customization interface and re-apply the Ross template to fix your ship's visuals.  Fleet Updates:  General performance optimizations to various UI elements.   Removed contribute button for Duty Officer Coffers for the Fleet Colony World.  Removed Reputation only Dilithium from being valid with Fleet Doff Donations.  Added Support for Fleet Dilthium Vouchers to the new guild donation task UI.  Updated to only show Fleet Dilthium Vouchers text if the Captain has any vouchers.  Known Issues:   Digitizer Torpedo currently has the long torpedo cooldown, we intend to exempt it since the issue where it lacked the cooldown opened healthy build paths.

It may be equipped on any starship in any slot, but you may only have one of these equipped at a time. Starship Trait - The Best Offense While your total shield capacity is above 50% your Directed Energy Weapons deal additional damage. The amount of damage increase is equal to current average shield percent above 50% (ie, if your average shield percent across all facings is currently 80%, you will gain a 30% damage increase). This benefit is re-evaluated once every second. Starship Trait - Tachyon Piercer Activating the Tachyon Beam Bridge Officer Ability on a Foe will now also cause effects equal to a Rank I version to Chain to an additional nearby Foe. Additionally, both the primary Foe and the Target of the Chain will suffer Radiation Damage and lose one beneficial effect, each tick. When used on Players, the Buff Strip effect may only occur to each affected Player once every 5 seconds. Terran Eagle Pilot Raider The enemies of the Terran Empire know they are always watched, but when it's the Eagle doing the watching their time is almost over. A specialist stealthy torpedo vessel, the Eagle excels at slipping into enemy ranks, identifying priority targets, and annihilating them before vanishing into the debris. Little information about the Eagle is available in the free worlds of the Terran Empire's home universe, but it's been seen firsthand by a huge number of enemy personnel. Alas, most were unable to pull breath for speech, let alone find working comms tumbling in the vacuum, and so the Eagle's reputation remains one of mystery. Stealthy vessels are often used to soften enemy defenses before slower assets commit to the fight. By weaving in and among their targets, keeping a low profile, and striking with precision, enemy area denial coverage can be disrupted and the way made clear for the fleet. Starship Trait - Stealth Torpedo Bomber Being Cloaked adds a stack of Sealth Torpedo Bomber for a long duration, and using a Pilot Manuever adds 5 stacks. Once 10 stacks are accumulated, the next instance of Cloak or Pilot Manuever instead applies Torpedo Spread 2 for a moderate duration and clears all stacks. After a moment, the coolant is ignited, forming a plasma with incredible conductivity, allowing the ships to network their power and execute a spectacular series of devastating beam attacks.  This console additionally provides a passive bonus to Cannon Damage, and bonuses to Damage, Flight Speed and Turn Speed for Pets and Targetable Torpedoes. Starship Trait - Strike Group Command Authority While this trait is active, your Pets gain bonus damage based on the most powerful Pet you have active: fighter, frigate, or starship separation such as Multi-Vector Assault Mode and Saucer Separation. While too much freedom for subordinates invites insurrection, too little invites weakness. The Klingon Civil War is over, and true-hearted warriors are needed to ensure a glorious future. All Klingons worthy of the name must join the fight! The Empire has redoubled its recruiting efforts, and from the shadows the most promising are redirected to a new path. New Klingon Captains will be known as Klingon Recruits, and they bring with them the backing of their shadowy patron.  In 2021, the Klingon Starting Experience was completely reimagined, meaning that these Recruits will also have a completely reworked, modern starting story. There will never be a better time to make a Klingon in Star Trek Online than during the Klingon Recruitment event, which runs from February 16th to March 9th. Characters made during this time will be Klingon Recruits, and they will earn a host of new benefits and rewards to aid them in their leveling experience. Klingon Recruits are designed to emphasize the unique experience of being a warrior of the Empire. They have a number of advantages designed to close the gap that exists between new characters and characters that have been in Star Trek Online for years, all built around the glories of combat. But these Recruits have a secondary responsibility. Their mysterious patron is dead-set on removing Enemies of the Empire. After contacting Klingon Recruits during the tutorial, they are likely to move against these Enemies, attaching additional dangers and rewards to missions along the Klingon Storyline. Recruits who succeed against these Enemies will find themselves with a new T6 Bird-of-Prey that scales with their level. Each recruit’s own Transponder will give them details of their objectives. Klingon Recruits will have a list of goals that they can achieve at any time, and completing these goals will see them rewarded with equipment, Marks, and other rewards. Many are not only beneficial to the Klingon Recruit, but to all characters on the same account. Completing story arcs will reward you with a unique Ground Universal Kit, completing Ambush Kills in space and Melee Kills on the ground will unlock a Starship Trait and Ground Personal Trait, and all three of these rewards can be shared for all characters on your account.   Klingon Recruits can only be created during the Klingon Recruit event. These recruits can be recognized by the Klingon Symbol next to their names. All Klingon Recruits will have an inherent bonus trait during the Klingon Recruit Event of periodically granting a cache of Dilithium Ore upon defeating enemies, a bonus which extends to your entire group—the Recruit’s mysterious patron appreciates the allies of their ally. This trait will only be available during this event and will be gone once the Klingon Recruitment event ends, so gather your Dilithium Ore while you can! Additional rewards are gained by leveling up, playing through story content up through the Klingon Civil War story arc, and finding special Klingon Recruit objectives on certain mission maps. Many of the same things that players do while levelling their characters will earn Klingon Recruits improved rewards! Greetings, Captains! We’ve decided to make some changes to the Pilot Bridge Officer Abilities to bring them closer in effectiveness to some of our more popular Bridge Officer Abilities. Numerically, Pilot Specialization Bridge Officer Abilities are in a weak state. Most of them try to do cool things and fall short due to lack of raw power, and a couple need more intensive care. Help is on the way. The design intent here is simple: raise the power level of Pilot BOFF Abilities such that they’re worth using alongside other more popular BOFF Abilities. Most Abilities got raw power in whatever area made them most special. Reroute Reserves to Weapons, Clean Getaway, and Deploy Countermeasures got more thorough rebuilds because they needed clearer jobs to do – situations where it’s obvious what the Ability can do for the Captain. A couple of the changes are more experimental, in particular Reinforcements Squadron. We’re adding stat scaling to the fighters it calls as a special mechanic of the ability (details below). Watching how this interacts with gearing decisions will teach us a lot, and chart a course that could take us to more broadly supporting minionmancer playstyles in the future. Generally speaking, we expect these changes may need to shift slightly so they can settle comfortably. Additionally, we’re making small tweaks to two Engineer Bridge Officer Abilities. Starship Shields are a core part of Trek and we feel they’re a bit squished by the elephantine cube in the room: the Borg are very good at what they do and it’s important they stay that way. Since they’re also severely warping the play space around the Shields mechanic, we’re giving Captains the tools they need to do some adaptation of their own. Emergency Power to Shields and Reverse Shield Polarity now grant conditional and unconditional immunity to Shield Drain during their respective effects.   These changes are currently slated to go live in an update this week on PC, and then hit Console when we've had some time to see how they work on PC, and address any issues that arise from feedback or otherwise.. Captains, you may have noticed some new additions to your Fleet Donations on PC! These changes are coming to Console as well, very soon, but we wanted to update you on what you can now expect on PC: You may now use the new Duty Officer contribution system with other fleet holdings, beyond just the starbase. Several contribution types that accept civilians will now accept prisoners and refugees. You may donate Duty Officers directly to coffers. Each holding now has coffers associated with Engineering, Science, and Tactical Duty Officers. Contributing Duty Officers to those coffers, or contributing excess Duty Officers to a project, provides coffer points that you can then pull out and donate to other projects with that holding. Various small fixes to issues around donating dilithium. General:   Resolved an issue with loadouts that was causing them to reset changes when moving between ground and system maps.  Resolved an issue that prevented the Task Force Operations “Iupiter Irratus” and “Bird Cage” from offering a “Mark Package - Multiple Choice” as a reward.  Resolved an issue in the mission “Fujiwhara Effect” where Captains would not be able to progress the mission after the final fight.   Resolved an issue where some Captains had duplicate “Eye of the Storm” missions in their mission journal.  

This weekend, starting Thursday, January 26th at 8AM PT (17:00 CET) to Monday, January 30th at 10AM PT (19:00 CET), we are running a special event where Captains can earn bonus Marks by playing content throughout the game! During the event, content that provides Marks (Fleet or Reputation) will reward a 50% (1.5x) bonus above normal amounts – this bonus is available for all content that rewards Marks. Start building your Fleet projects and reputations!
